A friend of mine asked me to try to make his pc a little faster i dought it can be done this is the info on it can,t locate in mobot or bios string it is a Elpina under is 1697-A, umc chip #8886bf 9714-fxt ami bios 486 1985-95 a810608. sticker on isa says QA in USA 00016870671253 has amd-x5-133adz processer in it tring to get him to buy my old 350 compaq but he likes this pc anything i can do thank you Bert

Elpina boards rarely have ID markings on them that is of any use.

Post a complete description of the board and we'll see what we can find.
Include the chipset, # of ISA/PCI slots, etc...

Elpina is no motherboard manufacturer - they produce the PCB the motherboards are built of .
their biggest customer is Pcchips .

UMC8886B chipset: M915i or one of the M919 boards (4 different revisions, check the surface of the board in the corner near the keyboard connector, remove any stickers to see the Vx.x marking, no marking = oldest revision (1.2).

I most cases there is a sticker covering the BIOS chips aswell. Underneath contains the model #
