I've noticed in the Tech Support forum that countless people are having problems booting their systems, and often enough a lot the same answers are given in the same order. Eventually if those do not solve the problem then things start to branch off.......but i was thinking it would be a good idea to make a sticky at the top of the page that gave the basic procedure on how to trouble shoot your computer, just to make sure its not something simple. Then if doing all of those steps in the sticky still doesnt allow them to boot up, they could post their problem for the members to read.
Just a thought wink

That is a good idea for a sticky. Put in things like:

1. If your motherboard has an auxilliary ATX power connector (square 4-pin) make sure that it is plugged in.

2. Make sure that the RAM is fully seated.

3. Make sure that the video card is fully seated.

4. Make sure that the CMOS jumper is in the "ON" position (pins 1-2) and not the "CLEAR" position (pins 2-3).

5. Make sure that there are no unused motherboard standoffs in the case.

6. Try to boot the system outside of the case with only the CPU, video card and 1 stick of RAM installed.

I'm sure you can think of several more things to add to those.

As soon as time becomes availible and something concrete can be hammered out it will be posted as a "sticky".

dharbert - good input. Thanks
