Im getting an Epox 4BDA2+ mobo which supports 266 ram

Ive been told i should get 333 ram since when i overclock my 1.8A P4, it will then pick up and utilise the 333. Is this right? or will i need to do something else to make this possible?

And in any case, will i see any difference between 266 and 333 ram? I'll be doing mosty video capture, and stuff with photoshop, but i cant afford RD RAM.

thanks for reading :)

That board uses the i845 chipset which is designed for PC2100. You could put PC2700 in it, but it will not utilize it the way you've been told. The chipset must be designed for the ram speed to use it properly. Stick with the PC2100. It's cheaper and it will do the job for you. Just make sure that you get at least 512MB. Also, be sure that it's Crucial memroy as it is the best out there and they have on-line coupons going for their sticks. 8)

is there a significant difference between PC2100 and PC2700 in use? I know the numbers show its better to go with 2700 but i like the intel chipset, and that Epox board in particular. But if i'd see a noticible difference in the two, i'll look at getting a board with the SiS chipset.

With video editing and rendering you may notice the difference between the 2. I would recommend getting PC2700 if you have the budget for it,.
