Yep, testing a Celeron 2400 and so far it is been very disappointing. It's been running for aproximately fifteen days and has only generated a little over 500 points. I'll leave it running for 30 days for comparative purposes.

i believe it's the lack of cache that's responsable for that. In it's place, a 2400+ would likely smoke it.

it also depends on what kind of wu's it's getting. using -forceasm flag? if not, are there any statements in the fahlogs that say?:
Quote:
[20:37:19] Preparing to commence simulation
[20:37:19] - Ensuring status. Please wait.
[20:37:36] - Looking at optimizations...
[20:37:36] - Working with standard loops on this execution.

I'm using the same settings I have used on all of my folding machines:-

-forceasm (in all cases).

-local (if there is more than one installation of FAH)

-verbosity 9 (occassionally if I want more info from the log)

-advmethods (not all for the last two months or more)

Console client 3.25 Beta, one instance only except on the dual CPU machine which is running two instances.

Basically all of my testing is done with only the -forceasm flag and I need to stick with that setup for performance comparison purposes.

All comparisons are done 30 days straight 24/7 = XXXX points.

getting a high % of tinker wu's?

an idea that comes to mind, is to create a standardized benchmarking program that would crunch on the easiest to crunch gromacs wu, that would run through standard loops, 3dnow!+, and sse, and then create some comparative status. the comparative part would have to be created by an upload of results to a central database. this would then become a potential stats feature for our team. only situation is, i'm not sufficiently code competant at this point to develope this. it should be written in a code that is cross platform universal. i think C++ is what would work, as i've seen commentarry that the differences are just a couple of binaries, though otherwise the same.
