| The one issue i can think of for this is HEAT. For a 1.5 ghz laptop it wouldn't be as bad as say a 3 ghz laptop, but that chip will get very hot, and possibly melt the case. |

about 1/2 of my folding farm are made up of dell laptops. works great. i set the hibernation to off and set the "close lid" to "do nothing" so i can shut the clam shell and it won't go into standby.
but tulatin does have a point. sometimes they DO get pretty hot, esp when the clam is shut. so if you run them i'd actually suspend the laptop off the desk at each corner with something (maybe a few jewel cases stacked up at each corner) to allow air to circulate underneath it.
if it does get to hot my laptops bluescreen with a message "shut down to prevent permanant damage." so it's fine. _________________ Default_Dave's STATS! Team #33258 |

| Your best bet to keep laptop's safe is what my frient did - he took 2x80 and 3x60 mm fans and put them all blowing either into the vents or under the laptop - it's COLD now. So - stack up a few jewel cases, and slap a few 80 mm fans down there. |
