 Can anyone tell me who made the mainboard for an IBM Aptiva 2176-C32. All I can see is SI58 P VIO Rev: 1.0A. Can this board be upgraded with a faster processor? It's running a Pentium 133/66 mhz chip.
Thanks, Greg

In most cases these tend to be acer boards, but there is not alot of info on this one in particular.

One of 2 boards here.

Judging by the options available here:-

http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/GCOR-38ZKB6.html?

the board is limited to non MMX processors (P54c) up to 200MHz maximum.

 Thank You Aussie and Mobocop for your input. I got the Aptiva for free so I haven't lost nothing. Is it possible to change the mainboard to a better one.I know it isn't an ATX, but I would like to get it to run a little faster and give it to my mother. Thanx,Greg

If you look at the design specs Aussie posted, it is completely propriatary. You won't find a retail board to fit in there.

Perhaps you could build one using the spare parts in a bare bones system or something.

Hmm, onboard video, not sure if that is an universal floppy drive in the case...
