blowhole refit

Postby mik8531 » Thu Jul 04, 2002 7:41 am

I recently purchased the X-wing 101 case from Colorcases.com and a thermaltake 80mm smartfan. I'm thinking i want to put the fan in the blowhole, replacing the low yield factory installed fan. any thoughts on this one? i'm really only seeing the problem being volume in vs. volume out. If this is the thing, i can move the thermal sensor closer to the CPU so it spins faster. I've got a smartfan on the front and the Volcano 7 on the processor and the blowhole of course. It seems to run a nice 45 degrees at high load for several hours.
Things are more like they are now than they ever were before.

With the Smart Fan, you have to wait to see if it gets hot enough inside the case to activate the sensor. A better idea would be a variable speed fan like the Enermax so that you can manually adjust the speed to work with the case and system.
