No Luck Installing Client Soft on Longhorn

Postby miki02131 » Fri Sep 05, 2003 2:52 pm

I have a test partition with LH4015. Today, I tried to install the client F@H software on it to no avail. I know the software is compatible with XP, I can't understand why it wouldn't install on LH since LH is built right on top of XP. Any idea?

there must be some differences though. i mean Win2000, and WinXP are built on NT technoligy and stuff work on one OS but not the other so have one built from the code base of enouther doens't garrentee it will work.

if you can't get the graphic client to work i'd install the console version. i'd bet that'll run on it.

miki this is from the folding website

If you are attempting to install the Windows graphical client or screen saver, and see "Setup is starting..." pop up, but then nothing else happen (no error message even), the problem is likely due to the presence of files named "setup.exe" in some directory present in your path (likely culprits are the directory in which the F@h installer is, your Desktop, and your temp directory). Remember that you may have multiple temp directories, depending on your operating system. Delete or move the setup.exe files and all should work fine.

dont know if this will help you
