Whats the best methord for removing compound from the cpu core and surounding aria ??

alcohol wipes
dry anti static cloth

or what ??

Don't do this until someone else confirms, but I believe I read using Isopropyl Alcohol with...umm...not sure what kind of whiping cloth, I'm curious now. Someone help us!

If it has silicone oil, only sodium hydroxide will break it down; if you ever got them on the pins. None of the solvents(as strong as trichloroethlene) can break it down.

Fortunately, sodium hydroxide does not attack metals, and will breakdown the two silicon atoms at the ends of carbon hydrogen chain.

Clorox has a brand called Adventage that has sodium hydroxide and can restore electrical contact from silicone oil electrical isolation problem. Have been using it to clean silicones off gold fingers and cpu pins, etc.. Hot water rinse and proper drying is important
