WILL UPDATING THE BIOS CHANGE THE MAX RAM ALLOWED ON THE MB

Postby coasty1999 » Tue May 14, 2002 8:12 pm

My two matching 72pin edo 64meg sticks of ram will only register as 64 megs. My question is, what can i do to resolve this so that i can utilise the whole 128megs, When i put two sticks of 16 on bank 3 and 4 it register 96 megs so the ram can go higher then 64 megs. Will updating the bios work?
MOre info

I think is a San-Li motherboard but the model is 586V+ 03/4/1997 Ver A

Gonna need more info.
Please read forum rules.
To better help you we need at least a Mobo manufacturer/model (for example MSI Pro266 Master (6366))

Just because you can get up to 96 MB's of RAM does not mean the board is capable of 128 MB regardless of BIOS update.

In most cases, updating the BIOS does not increase the maximum or types of RAM that can be used.
