When room temp is 40 degrees celsius anyway, even the best heatsink is fighting an uphill battle.

Seriously, my temp sits @ 50 celsius under load. Do you think it should be lower? I'm think the heatsink is pretty well seated (with AS3), though I have been wondering about the temps myself.

I have two intake at the bottom front at about 3000rpm, an exhaust top back at 3600, and an exhaust on the PS (Antec Truepower 380)

My Vcore is at 1.55. What do you think? Reseat the CPU?

I can update these temps with farenheit tonight when I get home, I'll include case temps too...

hypnotik, I'd definitely reseat the heatsink. Not that 50° C is bad under load, but I know the V7+ does better than that. What fan speed to you have it set on?

In due time Tolmac  ......... This system is a spare cause my main machine (the Compaq) took a poop and havent gotten it fixed yet

I actually got a sweet looking board that I am wanting to use in my next build - a Shuttle AK37GT/R just cant afford to build it at this time........

First System

MOBO: Asus A7V133

CPU: AMD 950 T-bred

Ram: 512 PC133 Muskin

HSF: Thermalright AX-7

Bios settings: 139 fsb/ 10.5 multiplier/ CAS 2.5 all else on fastest settings.
Not to shabby for an old 133a board

Second System

MOBO: EP-8K3A+

CPU: AMD 1900 (AGOGA stepping)

RAM: 512 OCZ PC2700 Cas2.5

HSF: SLK-800

Bios Settings: 148 fsb/ 13 multiplier cas 2.5 all else set fastest. Gotta find the extra head room to hit 2Ghz.

I think I beat all of you for an XP chip :

now admitidly, I am using a koolance watercooling system, but still, this would qualify as a damn good overclock.

MOBO: Epox EP-8RDA

CPU: AMD 2100+, TbredB

Ram: 2x256 PC2100, Crucial

HSF: watercooling block

Bios settings: 133FSB, 18 multiplier, 1.7v.

now, that's a 700 MHZ increase! from a default of 1.7 to 2.4. and that's JUST with the multiplier settings! the board won't post at a multiplier of 19 (was hoping, heh) but with the proper voltage, I can get it to work at 18. probably with adjusting the FSB settings, I could probably get it even higher..

that's going from a 2100+ to a 3000+ :)

(since AMD's PR ratings are not exactly linear. I checked the rating at http://www.ocinside.de/html/workshop/am ... ct_id.html).
