I have to go with XP Pro. I've used every Microsoft OS released to the consumer market, my favourite for years was Win98SE I switched to all the new OSs but always switched back to 98SE. It took a lot of courage for me to finally decide to switch to XP Pro especially after seeing WinME. But I couldn't be happier, and I would never go back to 98SE. XP Pro offers everything that its predecesors offered and much more. I have to say that aside from the annoying updates for updates, it's a mighty fine OS. Hey it's Microsoft, you can't expect perfection.

XP Pro from win 2000, XP Home from WIn 98Se/Win Me. I have never had a hard reboot or a BSOD. I ahev been up and running since Oct of 2001. Have gone through 3 mobos and 2 CPUS, and Countless other hardware.

Currently I am Running an
Nforce 2 Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Athlon Xp 1700+(1.47) OC to 1.83= 2200+
Radeon 9500 Pro
512 MB PC 2700 Corsair XMS
WD 60 GB HD Master
WD 120 GB SE Slave
HP DVD 200i

and tons of video editing equipment.

XP Pro gets my vote. Stable, clear type interface, excellent driver support, easy networking configuration, to name a few.

I'd have to say Windows XP, too. It is so stable; far better than Me was. It actually runs faster on my 1.2GHz Athlon box than did Win98, but it runs terribly slowly on my 366MHz Celeron. Both have 512MB of RAM.
