Howdy folks,
I recently purchased an asus a8n-sli premium motherboard and my chipset is reaching sky high temps of almost 50c is this normal? If not what would you guys\gals suggest I use to keep it kool? Also I'm thinking of getting a asetek vapochill micro extreme cpu cooler for my amd 3200+ 939... Is this a good heatsink and fan to be using? I don't want anything too heavy like the big typhoon... as the asetek weighs in at something like 400g.

Check out Malico. I've used their chipset heatsinks before and I like 'em. 8)

Thanks mate but the problem is I have an asus a8n32-sli deluxe mobo which has the heatpipe technology and need a fan to keep it cool.. The heatsinks u gave me the link to look good and all but i really need a fan or something.. the other day the chipset reached 50c which is way to high for a chipset... at the moment I've stuck a fan from a amd referance cooler on it with some good ol' liquid nails lol and it seems to be doing the job great as i havent seen temps get above 30c. But I would like a proper fan for it. anyone got some recomendations?

I have this Motherboard, and I had a devil of a time these past years dealing with heat issues. OMG i hadmajor major cooling issues. BUt finally I solved ith with a small like chip fan and a very zalman cooler system. Now I am over clocked with at this point no real issues. Just keep eye onthe temp..

i have used zip ties, liquied nails, double sided tape....heck i have used it all. what really matters....is it keepeing things cool?? if yes...then your right where you need to be. i too have this mobo and have a fan blowing on the radiator for the heat pipe. works like a champ.

so far so good on the temp side of things. It will reach close to the 40c mark with an ambient room temp of over 30c but thats bout the only time it gets that hot. Who woulda ever thought that an amd reference fan could be used on a chipset lol. I'm also in the market for a better cpu coloer. It has to be an air cooled solution as I can't afford the step up to water cooling yet. And I would like it to be a good over clocker as my 3200+ just screams at me to push it higher and higher lol
