Need to order Thermal Paste?

Postby HAZEL » Mon May 27, 2002 11:16 pm

I'm going to order a 1.2 Gig Celeron CPU from NewEgg and it is "Retail Box with heatsink and fan".

Will it include Thermal Paste? I don't mean to be cheap, but their pastes cost $1 to about $8, but the bad thing is the additional shipping cost is another $6. That's not fair!

Welcome to the Mother Board!

Fair it may not be, but they do reduce the overall shipping cost as you add items to the list. It will still be $4 or $5 for the Arctic Silver III, but to my way of thinking, you'll not be running out of that any time soon if applied properly. The thermal grease that comes with the Intel CPU (I think they have grease with the retail unit) is not worth it to use at all unless you don't have anything else.
As I used to tell my deadhead friends; spend the extra money, get the good drugs! 8)
