Can it get to cold?
I have question just fur question sake. Is it possible for your sytem to be to cold. Is running your sytem at to cool of a temperature bad for the hardware, will it extend its life, will it run faster? Or is there a optimum temperature?. Just a thought that popped into my head.
Maybe run this into the intake fan of my computer. 12,000 btu should keep it pretty cool.

Nah, AC units feature dryers to prevent that from happening. Otherwise, on a warm humid day, your AC vents would be dripping wet.Oylpann wrote:I'm not sure about that mini air conditioner you pointed too. I would worry more about moisture than just cold air.
Per your question, no. You can't have it too cold. In certain extreme cases of overclocking with liquid nitrogen, they get the CPU down to -50C or cooler.

That's just a malfunctioning thermistor or BIOS. It doesn't know what to do with the cold. The CPU is in no danger.

my computer is in the summer house at the bottom of my garden. in the winter the temp is below 0c and in the summer it can get above 38c.
in the winter i turn the computer on and let it boot up but it takes 3-4 restarts before it gets running. cpu temp at start is around 12c and at windows 18c.
In the summer i have all case light off, fans on full and even have to have the desk fan aimed at the comp when playing games.
as th space is small i have to have the case in a cupboard, making sure that all fans suck for back and out front is a hel of a job/
