Best overall cooling system?

Postby andrey » Thu May 16, 2002 7:35 am

just wondering, what would you guys consider the best overall system for cooling down the computer? an air cooling brand? water cooling? liquid nitro? bottles of vodka? specific brands if possible :)

I am hoping for a good compromise between cost, efficiency, and noise. is it a koolance case? is it the Volcano 7? or is there something else on the market that does a good job of cooling it down that costs less than a new car?

water cooling is the best option out at the sec but it is expencive

other than that air cooled is the next best thing but is noisy

if air cooled then maby a volcano 7+ as you can manualy ajust the fan speed in the heat sink / fan

if water cooled then Swiftech do a water cooling system for some of there cases and as a kit

heres a link to a review on the swiftech case ok ;)

Tolemac did a mini review on the Volcano 7+ so PM him and ask him about that option ok:)

I checked out the Q-power, but it costs 285 to 455 bucks. will the Koolance case be a better deal? it starts at 175, and extra components cost like 30 bucks.

anyone else want to comment on overall best cooling solution?

I have decided the get the Koolance :D I was on a semi-tight budget and the margin of performance the Swiftech had over the Koolance did not warrant the price difference. The Koolance also has the ability to cool other components (GPU, hard drive, etc.)

How about an air duct from you home airconditioner thru a blow hole on the PC case? That would easily be the best cooling technique right?

OK...maybe I just went over my head there. It's just some crazy thought anyway.

P.S.
Seriously...I'm also checking this topic from time to time waiting for more suggestions.

that would be cool, aside from the fact I don't have air conditioning :)

and it would probably cool the case more than the CPU.
