Vapochill case: the holy grail?

Postby ajaskerritt » Sat Jun 22, 2002 8:22 am

:?: what do you guys think of the vapochill case? Is there any chance of seeing a review for this case on this forum? The site is vapochill.com. It seems expensive to me, but hey it looks cool. Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes the Vapochill is expensive @ £600+ is it worth it?
I can't truly say it is but that said for me the reduced noise
level sort of swings it for me.

The Vapochill unit can be a bit of a beast, you need to be
very careful when clamping down the Vapohead unit as you can
if your not carefull chip the cpu core I did this on one CPU but
luckerly without damaging effects.

I was using it with an AMD XP1800 using air cooling and a high Vcore
I could get 1750mhz. Using the Vapo with less voltage I could get that
upto 1950mhz stable with short term boots for benching @ over 2G
before lockups.

One thing you find about the Vapochill is that anything really over 1.9v
Vcore and your Vapochill is sitting on its limit for an AMD system and a
Vcore over 2v will see the vapochill system become saturated and
overloaded resulting in temp sudenly raising to the point it resets itself.

Intel setups fair better than AMD however things might start looking
better with the 0.13 AMD t-bred dies.
