Postby cristi_manolescu » Mon Jun 10, 2002 5:06 am

Can someone tell me where I can find any information about the normal /maximum temperature which AthlonXP can support? I couldn't find any on AMD's web page.
Thank u.

It really depends on what type of XP Processor you have but if your under 55 degrees your ok.

I'm running an Athlon XP 1900+ (non-overclocked) and with a terrible fan and a terrible thermal paste it runs about 51-52.

I'm about to get a volcano 7 and Artic Silver III compound and it should decrease the temps to around the lower 40's.

Just for reference, my CPU is not overclocked, has the retail packaged heat sink/fan, and uses the stock wax/thermal pad. Idle is 40-42 degrees celsius, and under full load it reaches 46-47 degrees.

Two case fans are a must, one case intake fan, and one PCI slot exhaust fan.
