Fog Machine ????????

Postby mooi » Wed Oct 16, 2002 10:22 pm

Anyone ever use one of these?
Does the fog create moisture?
Is it alot if so???????/
If not.. I think I am gonna try to mount one in my box for LAN parties... ( Just a cool effect for the unvieling of my new gaming rig)
I have never seen it before and think it would be cool for paying things like DIABLO II, MOHAA, JEDI OUTCAST...
Not too mention you can get different colors of fog now....

Hmmm... I know nothing of fog, but if you want to get creative with Dry Ice, I'm pretty sure that it sublimates with no liquid at all... Might even get some extra cooling out of it. Of course dry ice is harder to come by...

Fog would (as far as I know) cause condensation to build up, which as you know is not a good thing!!!

Well you could have done it and not asked. Done an unknown amount of damage and then said "well I did not know", but you asked and recieved an answer so you just saved yourself x amount of dollars.......

Well when I worked at Radio Shack, we had a fog machine hidden behind the counter. When the computer would be slow and take a long time doin something, we would poof something out and make the customers think the machine was smoking. They would get all alarmed and we would just blow it off and say it does it all the time  Scared the crap outta some customers.

Anyway, the newer fog machines use a soapy fluid to make the fog, and it is anything but moist. I would run a few tests with it first, but I dont think it would do any damage to a PC.

I had the chance to play with a modern fog machine at wal-mart the other day. It was pretty neat, and effective too. The un it was about 6"x6"x10" and really put out a lot of fog. The little box was very warm to the touch, but the smoke was not. I would probably not mount it in my case, unless it had plenty of space and I wasn't very concerned with heat or any particle buildup.
