and figured my 6800GT could use some beefy cooling to go with the nice memory sinks :twisted: . Performance tests to follow. Yes, that's a PEP66 bolted to my GPU core.

four bolt points around the core, at about 50x50mm, plus the cooler sits on the slots next to the card, so gravity is no problem. if this is going into a vertical case, i'll make supports, lol.

Gained about 15MHZ on the core, and topping out at 75 celcius under a full load.

Unfortunately no. Just drilled 4 holes after marking them, tapped them with the screws, then cleaned up and bolted the sink to the card, then shroud to sink

so how does it give a performance increase ?

+15MHz on the core, and about a 40C reduction of temperatures, so i'd imagine it helps boost lifespan too. For the time being though, it's not practical for normal system use.
