Oh the Noise!!!

Postby davidtb » Mon Aug 19, 2002 1:38 pm

I saww on:

http://www.xoxide.com/

they got some sweet stuff..but
they have noise reducers(mufflers?) they're mats of...what? they're 14bucks a shot. Has anyone gotten their hands on these to see what they're made out of? Ya gotta be able to come up with something cheaper than this..Any Acoustic engineers out there?

Sounds like an interesting mod. IMHO $14.00 really is not a bad price.

Cork board should do the same thing, but it traps heat.

You can go to your local auto parts store and buy the rubbery insluation that is used in trunks, and side panels. Some of it will come with adhesive already attached to it, just cut and apply.

I have several 1000+ page books, that for noise dampening and easy reference, sit atop my computer.

No, I don't block the fan with them.
