Beware of memory test software that only tests the first 64mb of your total memory.

as i can see valire is you know nothing, you take a nice new motherboard $150 model ,add a nice overclock cpu that a real value then you blow your buget with that spaceheater of a ps that you never need half of it power, and then your stuck with sloppy slow drives, hope your installed a ram drive driver and are catch on the ram not the drive, why oh why whould you use a maxtor drive?i dont care if its a 133 or a 150 sata there both as slow as $%^!@#,and they fail like crazy, and thats good considering there warrenty too, huh!just another pretty boy .whats your sandra file benchmark like on 03,bet its crap.and catch setting where its always been for speed .and on mem timing it makes a big difference sometimes but its costly, like a cpu bump.

Just .looking at cas for speed differences in manufacture is rather limited. Remember, the speed is in the drams used. What ns propagation delay is what counts. Of course in many ddrs, there are circuit differences which needs adjustments in bios, a few years ago. Today, the new bios took care of the differences, and that is what you see. Not much differences any more.

What still matters is the multipliers, how high to be inefficient in wait state improvements?

now val i going to say this nicely........WHAT YOU TALKING ABOUT WILIS

i must admit you are compentent for a p boy and hell even a good writer with sound advice but dont go shining that silver badge just yet.

your saying latentcy has no efect well thats ubserd.
lets look from a programs standpoint, say you got some c3 ram and you up the fsb well that could play havic with stablity.
if you have c2 well you up it to smoth things out.
i will admint i a machine that has a lot of headroom that you may see no difference.
but in a heavyloaded system you would see leaps and bounds with good memory management.

i have seen it in my 366mhz ibm 1400 notebook,my 866 mhz p3 .
my 2.5 mach well its hard to tell i add a raptor,or most tweeks i do
WHY? she got so much headroom to play with.
i dont even notice o.c to 2.8 or most things.
now if you testing on that new 800 fsb board well you never see em.
thats a hell of a board thats got so much headroom even with a 2.4
i bet that combo bets the snot out 3.06 533.
ram is cheap in the lower speeds in c2 and can be a nice tweek WHEN PAIRED IN THE RIGHT AMOUNT WITH PROPER DISC CATCH.
my first mach was a 386 it had 12 mb ram that was a hell lot ram back then, most machines had 2, 4 at the most.
i ran autocad r12,thats why i had 12 and i been doing mem manenment ever sence,i know what works and whats a MYTH.
and i know IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE USER AND THE MACHINE>

i know you think i cooked but i worked on an 8088 back then and play chess on an 8'' monochrome.
so i been around the block, long enough to know c2 mem like xms LL can work in some and show nothing in others.
i tend to good mem sence,i never buy more than i need,i set my virt to avoid too much disc catching.
adding too much mem can be bad too, opens the door to mem errors, wastes clock cycles, creates fragments in the memory.

if you want to be of REAL service tell them the problems of too much memory.
how to set up profiles for page file,so they can burn, play games or surf.
how to set services from auto to man.
how to use task manger for more than shuting down a stuck program.
msconfig and others.

PS I SEE YOU PICKED A WISE CHOISE ON A CPU BUT MAN THE MONEY YOU SPENT WOULD HAVE GOTEN RID OF THAT GOD AWFULL TUBE AND GOT A NICE 19 LCD i dont know, say a VX900.
you had a fine machine i seem to recall.
yes.

Don't mention Mr. V around here, it's kind of suicide (Mobocop got po'd with the constant fights between hm and Himmbilly so - chuck) Chek out Valour's site if you wish to take to him.
