Hey your avatar is a bit big there hombre. I'm on a 56k modem right now and it was hell waiting for it. Keep it around 6k, okay senor? :x

Currently I don't have my case all hooked up, I'm on somebody elses comp. But, it is an all-aluminum SkyHawk case with 4 added fan placements for ventilation that I drilled in. Two are 120mm fans and two are 90mm fans, making the intake 200CFM. Along with a Volcano 7 and a slot fan :)

Working on a dual power supply mod to an old 386 server size case. I'm going to run Linux on a collection of old SCSI drives I picked up for cheap and I need the space for the drives and I needed the second power supply to plug everything in. I'll post before and after pictures when I am done.

I don't think you'd call it a "mod" but my Tandy's missing a shift key so I attatched a small piece of plastic to it. Oh, and my li'l sis wrote "Amy Sucks" (that's the name they call me in real life) on Gollem a little while ago. I haven't bothered to remove it yet, so if any of you /really/ wan to see these, I'll be sure to snap some pics when I get the digital camera back.

But, as for a real mod, I am going to replace an LED on my system when I get the guts to. The hdd light is a very ugly orange and I'm going to replace it with a blue or red LED. One of those super-bright ones they sell at radioshack.

On the case im putting together, im thinking of airbrushing the one side, then putting an etched window on the door with blue or green LED's inside. A case badge might also find itself on the outside.

EDIT: Sorry I posted the wrong thing. Check out my case pics on my website. I took 'em with a crappy digital camera so they kinda suck. However, I took some newe pics. (updated as well), and they will hopefully be up in about a week. Thanks.

My first Post, and First MOD

Postby knif_00 » Fri Jan 31, 2003 11:22 am

First of all, hey everyone. I'm a regular at the o/c forums, newbie here . . actually I didnt even know had a forum till this morning.
Anywho there is the link to my case mod I did over the summer, please forgive the fuzzy image quality ::
Cutting that out was a bear by hand, no dremel or anything fancy. I used an 1/8th inch metal nibbler. Backed with an 8 by 8 inch square of transparent green Plexi I ordered from a Woodshop in Tennesee of all places. The lighting is thanks to an 8 inch Industrial White Cathode from ] They have excellent cathode kits for a good price. Hope you enjoy :)
