my viewing window cracked when installing the switch for my cold cathode. I need good help fast. anybody have any solutions on how to fix it or at least conceal it so it cant be seen!!!! any feedback is welcome!

If you are 100% sure that it's acrylic, then it might be possible to use an acrylic "weld", which is what's used to join acrylic seams. Other than that, you could probably just buy a sheet of acrylic and cut it to fit.

cant tell if it is plastic or acrylic. probably gonna end up getting it replaced

yeah - your best bet would be to swap out the window - just get a chunk of plexi to fix it..

do most hardware stores have plexi or plastic the size that i need?

they should - thy home hardware - they have the most. And as to the size you need, measure first, then have them cut it.

It's usually not difficult to find a decent replacement for clear plastics. Any decent hardware store/home supply center should carry it. You didn't list location, but assuming North America, you should be fine. I like acrylic over others, but for this application it doesn't really matter too much I guess. Also, if you bring a template, a lot of places will cut it for you if you don't have the tools.

I know that OSH is usually friendly enough to cut things like that for customs and that they carry plexiglass. It's a little expensive for plexi there. Home depot carries much cheaper things like some acrylics and that they SHOULD be able to cut a square for you but don't expect to get it done.
