I need a new motherboard for my first build, or I haven't kept up on new hardware, what should I decide before I post in the Recommendations forum?

1. Budget is key. It starts with a motherboard, but the more gadgets the motherboard supports, the more likely the user will follow on to purchase these supported gadgets and spend more money.

2. Terms of usage e.g. office work, gaming, video rendering etc. This may have an impact on the choice of CPU and therefore will have an affect on the motherboard.

In the first instance this is all that can be decided upon with reading reviews on specific motherboards and/or asking questions.
