overclocking my AMD X2 4600+

Postby onthagrind » Fri Jan 19, 2007 2:21 pm

Ok so i started my overclocking experience yesterday. I want to know when your FSB is 230 and you are running DDR2 does that make your ram run at 920? I have patriot ram running at 667 and upped my core speed form 2.41 to 2.76. is that ok for a beginner? what can i do to achieve a higher stable clock?

If you are running stable with those settings that's good but you must not make large movesin your settings the most important aspec is to ensure your temp's are not going to high, make sure you have temp warning turned on on your overclocking application.

ok thanks for the info. my temps at 2.76 were hovering around 53-57c. one more question. about my memory when the fsb is 230 does that mean that my ram is clocked at 920?

its a theoretical number your looking at. the true, unadulterated clock is 230mhz. its the techno spin they put on it.
if your in the mid 50's C* @ idle, it is too high.
