erm i got a opteron so throughout this post i am talking about AMD ( i get my ht and htt and what not mixed up)

well basically i got a asus a8n sli deluxe, and i want to see what the htt limit is. just wondering how i go abouts doing it? i mean i know how to lower the cpu multi and ram multi, and i know how to increase the frequency, but what should i set the htt multi at and how do i stress test it to see if its stable?
to build or not to build,
that is the question?

As a rule of thumb you should keep HTT at 1000. By 1,000 I mean your CPU Freq, or FSB, in Jumperfree multiplied by the HTT multiplier, which goes from 1X to 5X. If you go much above 1000 your system could become unstable.

so you know how some boards have a limit, for example i read somehwere that the asus a8n sli delux is 300, doesnt it mean theortically ic an actually set it up to 500 if i have a 2x multiplier?
to build or not to build,
that is the question?

Yes, theortically you could go to a fsb of 500 and a HTT multiplier of 2x. I don't think your computer would boot at that fsb however! As to the maximum of 300 fsb, i think you can go higher then that. I know with my A8n SLI I can go well over that, but again it won't boot if I do that
