oc on ram, system oc

OCZ OCZ4001024ELPE 1 GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (2.5-3-2-5 @ 200 MHz)

got two sticks of this ram, which i've had running stable (2.5-3-3-6@200MHz, 2.6v) for a few months, and now i am looking to start pushing it a little.

i've loosened the timings to 2.5-5-5-7, and bumped up the fsb to 213 (running a 6:6 divider) and voltage to 2.7v with good results (quake4 runs stable for a few multiplayer deathmatches).

my question's are... have i upped the voltage on the ram too soon? does anyone have an idea what this ram can do?

...i tried fsb215 with 2.5-4-4-6 2.7v, but quake4 froze after a short spell, otherwise it seemed stable. any thoughts on whether it was the ram or cpu that caused this? (cpu was at 215X11 with 1.625v at the time, now i'm at 213X11 with 1.625v).

...am i over-volting too much?

i'd like to get to 2400 on the cpu, and an 11.5 multi seems to severly limit my fsb, so i need 218X11.

can anyone give me a clue to get there?

hardware is in the sig (replace the geil with the ocz). volcano12 on the cpu.

oh yeah, the gt is oc'ed to 400-1100 in 3d mode.

well i don't think ya overvolting 2 much... try raising it from 2.5 to 3 on the cas latency (cl for short).
I'm running a pair of generic hyunix ram at 3.4.4.8 (2.8v) at 228 mhz and it's stable for everything.

thanks for the reply...

what multi do you have on that 228 fsb? and what chip is that on?

939 systems seem to be a lot more flexible with oc's. i have an msi k8n rig (work computer) with one of those 3200's oc'ed easy to 2.2 with no instability. and i've gone higher, like to 230X10 with no problems and only minor adjustments to the cheap ram in the box.

my socket A system, though, can't do what the other can, and i think it must be something about how the system handles the ram (no onchip mem controller?)

I haven't tried dropping the latency to 3, but i guess that's the next step.
