Hopefully a quick burn in ?

Postby ink » Wed May 24, 2006 10:20 am

I just received 180 opteron and am going to place it in an ASUS A8N-VM CSM Mobo.

I don't believe that I will get much of an OC with this board. I was hoping on getting a better OCing board in the near future but was concerned about burn in. I hope I'm using the term correctly? From what I've understood, if a cpu gets comfortable at a certain speed it may not want to change much in the future.

Is there any truth to this?

Thanks

i've never seen a piece of electronics "get comfortable" at any specific point within its specifications.

as long as you keep the cpu within its thermal and voltage specifications there really shouldn't be any kind of burn-in which keeps it from being altered later.
