Is this how to run the Asus 845E at DDR333?

Postby James Cotter » Tue May 28, 2002 4:14 am

I would really appreciate it if somebody could look at this page and tell me whether this shows how to run the ASUS P4B533-E i845E at DDR333.

http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/asus/p4 ... llery5.htm

Also does anybody know if this is overclocking the chipset or just enabling a feature that intel does not officially support.

Thanks for your help :D
:) James :)

I don't see where they are showing the P4B533-E as using DDR333(PC2700). They do show the P4S533 with the SiS 645DX chipset as using the DDR333.

Hi Toley :D

Thanks for responding
They say on the next page that they ran it with DDR333
http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/asus/p4 ... 533ep2.htm

"Intel 845E series

ASUS P4B533-E, MSI 845E Max2, DFI NB73-EA, Gigabyte 8IEXP
Intel Pentium 4 2.4G 533Mhz
512MB Winbond DDR333 DDR
ThermalTake heatsink/fan
Maxtor 40G ATA133 7200RPM
MSI Geforce3 Ti200 /Detonator 21.83
Windows 2000 + SP2
Intel Application Accelerator "

I was wondering if the picks of the bios show how they did this. Or does this mean that allthough they used DDR333 they only ran it at 266.

Thanks

Also what is the difference between async and sync

Go to the page after that one that shows the SANDRA benchmarks and you will see that they tested the P4B with DDR266 and the P4S with DDR333. I believe that the page that you just linked me to is a mis-print on their part.

Thanks Toley,

I thought i had finally found a review of the Asus 845E running at DDR333, damn    . Guess it is back to the drawing board and the decision whether to get the 845E or 845G then. Thought i had finally sussed it and it was a simple case of changing a bios setting and the 845E ran fine. Back to searching the web then  . Cheers for sorting that one out for me.
