Trying to Overclock 733 Celeron on a P2B-F MB

Postby ebony » Sun Jul 07, 2002 9:19 am

This is my first attempt at overclocking. I am trying to overclock a Celeron 733MHz by increasing the CPU Bus from 66MHz to 100MHz. I installed a Celeron 733MHz into an Abit Slotket III/Cool Jag Cooling on a Asus P2B-F motherboard. As the MB doesn't understand VID Vcore requests under 1.8 volts I set the Slotket jumpers to 1.8V. It posts and operates normally at 733MHz when the MB Jumpers are set to 66MHz BUS but will not POST at any higher BUS speed regardless of the motherboard or slotket BUS Jumper settings. I have gone into the BIOS and NO software adjustment is available. The JEN is hardwired and there is no Jumper to allow software setup. I am using BIOS 1013.A which appears to be the latest version. I have NOT adjusted the Vcore voltage above 1.8V at this point but the normal voltage is shown as 1.7V.

Any Help would be appreciated

Not all boards will overclock no matter what you do to them. It would seem to me that you have such a board. You have done everything that you are supposed to do and it will not overclock. It may be time for that upgrade.
