Can adjusting the CPU Ratio/Vcore unnesescarily do anyhting besides raise the CPU temp?

CPU ratio/Vcore adjustments wont "harm" the system - beyond increase in temps. What you may run into is:
1) if your settings are too high - possible no post - would have to clear CMOS


2) System hanging due to improper voltage.

Make adjustments in small steps (increments of 2) and test for stability after each. Download SiSoft Sandra program also<<<---this will help you test out the overclock.
