overclocking advice please

i am a bit of a novice at this but here goes the questions.
motherboard Soyo SY-K7V Dragon Plus
cpu anthlon 1.4 FSB 133 unlocked with pencil trick
ram 256mb ddr2100
temp in bios 59 degrees centigrade
os windows XP
can not get cpu to overclock above 1.533. will not post above this. any advice would be much appreciated

Your temps are way too high :!: Your should get some Arctic Silver 3 and a Thermaltake Volcano 7 hs/f! What are you using now?

i am using artic silver 3 and a heatsink and fan rated for a XP2100+ cpu plus one extra case fan

1) Are using only a paper-thin layer of AS3?
2) What hs/f are u using...brand/model
3) You should have a case fan in the front for intake and ony on the back for blowing out...
4) get the Volcano 7+ cheap from www.novapcs.com ...its only $25.00

probably used to much as3. i think hs/fan is a Coolermaster but cant remember which model. just checked temp in Bios 49C @ 1.4mhz not overclocked.when computer on for say 8 hours temp reads 54C at idle not overclocked

Your temps. are OK when it isn't oc'ed...as for o/c'ed I would say to try out the V7 from www.novapcs.com and maybe add another case fan...

does anyone no if this heatsink and fan will fit on my motherboard without snagging anything else on the motherboard for example the capacitors? how noisy is it?

The V7+ is pretty noisey from what I have heard...

I looked at your board and it looks like the V7+ should fit.
