While that may be true, think of the performance caused by the fsb...

Big ups to overclocking!

FSB:200mhz
Multiplier:10.5x
Speed:2.1ghz
CPU voltage: 1.675v
Cooling: stock hsf with ghetto ducting technology.
Temp under load: 43.5 degrees C.

this is my first time overclocking, I think I'll buy a real hsf next week :)

try #1..
MSI 6390
XP2000 Palomino (AX2000DMT3C, AGOIA)
would only run stable w/ FSB @ 139, tried upping vcore, dint help..
stock mult...... 139 * 12.5 = ~1738mhz, only 71mhz over
stupid 6390...

try #2
MSI KT6 Delta (Via KT600)
same ole XP2000 (b4 i got my barton)
had it running stable @ fsb 143, had the vcore upped from 1.75 to 1.825
stable,, running 53c idle, 60-65c full load (prime95)
prime95 returned no errors (amazingly)..

so.. 143 * 12.5 = ~1786 a grand total of 121.5mhz OC

im gonna do the l3 unlocking soon.. i swear.. i wanna get at least 1.9-2 ghz outta this sucker.,. i know xp2k's suck.. but i dont care if its puffing black smoke, and smellin like a dumpster w/all 12v running through it  ,, as long as it boots into xp.. then it can @#$! up all it wants

My first time overclocking:

Base: 2.4GHz @ 34C
With ASUS AI 30% overclock: 3.1GHz @ 40C

I didn't think the Crucial RAM was going to take the inflated bus speed, but it's holding strong. With manual overclocking, I should be able to take it higher, though I may need something other than the stock hsf.

2500+ @ 2.5MHZ. With slk-900 and tornado at full blast was idling at like 55°C. Now that is hot... If I get some extreme cooling, that speed might just stick around. That was 218x11.5 on an Abit NF7, would have gone for a higher FSB but it doesn't let me do anything higher than 218. :( Well, I'd say that my cpu Overclocks quite well :)

xp2000+ palomino (i know, pallies aint good for o/c, but it worx)

managed to get 151 fsb running outta it, anyhigher would cause reboots, dropped outta prime95, 150 stable (had to up vcore to 1.8v)

when done was running:
XP Pally 2k+ (AGOIA) 150 fsb, 12.5(stock) mult.
MSI K7N2-DeltaILSR
256 Samsung PC2700 (had another 128 stick of micron2100 in it, but bit the dust)

its not the greatest oc, but for a 2k pally? 150*12.5=1875mhz, so about 210mhz o/c...
