how clean a virus on motherboard

hi everybody,

my motherboard has found a virus, i guess

after the RAM memory test when i start my computer i can read:

Trend ChipAwayVirus (R) on Guard Ver 1.63A

where can i find an antivirus for my motherboard? and how can i clean it?

I think this is just a standard POST message telling you, you have this feature active on your motherboard. "Trend" is certainly an antivirus vendor.

If not, have you tried clearing your CMOS via the motherboard jumper?

its a standard bios message. its to tell you you boot files on you hardrive are protected againts boot sector viruses to stop your harddrive being wiped, by those nasty little buggers. nothing to worry about

i have done. i clean with the jumper and the message appears again but the red box don´t. i hope the virus has gone.

Possibly you or we are confused.

Trend is the antivirus boot watch utility, it posts each time saying if there is an issue or not.

Now what about this little red box? Is trend saying there is a boot virus? If so which one?

Do you need a antivirus program?, if you dont have one you need one, i would assume you would have trends pccillin, but that may not be installed.
