I'm on DSL and use the routers firewall, and the free ZoneAlarm.

I can monitor and maintain the logs from the hardware firewall in the router..normally sees about 200 "seeks" (for lack of a better word) daily as my computer is logged on the net 24/7 for it's folding. Now combine that with the zone alarm logs? About 300+ each day.... According to the DSL Reports page my computer is fairly well protected (or so they claim) And both firewalls seem to have put a stop to the hackers (for the moment)

But just consider that....about 300++ each day....Do these people have nothing better to do?

S-

I have a similar set up and have the same kind of attacks...

I agree just what is the point, and what is it with these people!

Dont you get it..
Many of the bugs we get are used to install bugs in other peoples systems as well as look in every IP address they can find, these are programs that can be launched from your own pc if you werent as gullible as others or it was installed behind your back, all of the info goes to some IRC server.

Basically those of us that arent protected help bring others down, they are just looking for a weakness. Give them one and they run with it...

But its the uniformed that help keep these things alive and help spread them in most cases.
