Heard some news about Apple no longer updating QT for Windows, and it may be vulnerable to hackers.
Advice is to uninstall same.
From a search:

Quote:
Apple will no longer be providing security updates for QuickTime for Windows, According to Trend Micro.
Exploitation of QuickTime for Windows vulnerabilities could allow remote attackers to take control of affected systems.
Recommended to uninstall QT for Windows.

Apple has never supported QuickTime for Windows 8 or 10.
Apple officials should have shown the courtesy to tell Windows users QuickTime was no longer receiving security updates, rather than leaving it to Trend Micro.

The VLC player program is a good alternative.. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
