Don't get hacked!

Has been said many times.. if you get an Email that looks authentic from a bank or other financial business, asking for personal information, DO NOT REPLY or use links in it! You may give a hacker or scam artist an easy way to strip your finances.. or steal your identity. If you do get those Emails, go directly to your true financial source.. not via that Email! And get their address to forward it to them.
Several large banking corporations announced recently they were "hacked" and personal info of customers/patrons may have been stolen.
Any notices of "winning" a Lotto or inheritance should be very suspect as being fraudulent.

I recently needed to dl firefox for my secondary machine which runs xp... and I wasn't too careful, picked the first google result for "firefox" (I think the webpage addy even said Mozilla), and wow, did it start to download all kinds of weird stuff into that machine!
be vigilant AT ALL TIMES people!

scans with malwarebytes and superantispyware seemed to do the trick getting that stuff out, so I'm okay, but it sure wasn't expected that google would give such bad results up at the top of the list.

Always safest to go to the parent site for any downloads! Most sites are otherwise safe, but some do add spyware or malicious ads to the download stream.

Just a few days ago, a major home center.. Home DepotĀ®.. announced it was hacked! Customer info may have been accessed.
And now the news stories about celebs having their private ( ) photos being hacked from the "iCloud" and put on social networks! Apple is now trying to find the WORM that did it!

In addition to malicious links in phony Emails, never call any telephone numbers noted. Could be a very expensive bill!
One recent scam is a 'diplomat' stuck at an airport.. asking you to call +2348115851471 Don't do it!
