CDROMs stuck in the drive and you can't get them out? No problem! We are hear 24/7 to walk you through shoving a paper clip in a "secret" hole in front of the CDROM, to force the door open...

Do you hate some feature of XP? Hate XP entirely? Just utterly fustrated that you suck at using a PC? No Problem! We are here 24/7 to listen to you bitch...

Do you hate Compaqs? Do you not know why you bought one? Is it 3 years out of warranty and you expect me to help you? No problem! We are here 24/7 to listen to you whine...

Can't connect to the internet? Expect me to know how MSN, AOL, Roadrunner and all other rinky dinky connection providers work? No problem, for a non-refundable $24.95 I can guess at how it works and still end up sending you to the provider anyways...

My name is Nic and I am a Compaq support technician... 8)

I work as a service technician for a natural gas distribution utility. It is no different. We are all lazy, good-for-nothing union workers until the customer's equipment breaks down. Then we are supposed to know every make and model of furnace ever made be there within five minutes to fix it. Never mind that this is a FREE service offered by my company. Oh well, the pay is good. I have to pay for my computer habit somehow... until I win the lottery.

True the stability is great. The thing I don't like is that the union protects the deadweight as well as those who do their job with pride. No matter how hard you work the lazy one gets the same yearly raise as you. It's a toss-up in my opinion.

Very true...

no wonder you know so much!

Actually I have not really learnt anything new with reguards to PCs while being at compaq. Though I can now find out what the hell is inside one of these machines...
Though most of my Windows XP exposure has been from working at Compaq. Sort of forced to learn it if your going to support it.
