Omaha Steaks

Postby BittaBrotha » Tue May 21, 2002 10:52 pm

Has anybody ever purchased from Omaha Steaks? I see ads for it and just wondered how good would the meat be since they ship UPS!

What was your opinion, if you purchased from them, of the meat quality?

After seeing that special last night on grocery stores redating supposedly fresh meat, I'm somewhat having an aversion to meat products today. I have to say that the thought of recieving steaks through UPS or any delivery service in the middle of the warmer months of the year is making me physically ill at the moment. Maybe next week when I've forgotten all about this and I'm back to eating 2 month old convienience store hot dogs I will look into the steaks by mail thing. But until then I need to have my chuck-bucket at arms length at all times.

ok whats a rump steak? T-bone and New York is all I grill. its only like 8 to 10 bucks for a nice size steak, throw in a large Idaho potato and some asparagus and you have a meal fit for a king. Anything over medium rare is sick. how anybody can eat "well done" meat is beyond me.

and Peter how can you DROOL over a steak, you hate meat you vegetarian freak :P :P

Aw gee! Do I have to explain it? OK then. It's a large slice of the muscle that comprises one side or the other of the RUMP or hind quarters of the beast.

Have a look here if you need further explanation:-

Cor blimey, these guys don't even know what a rump steak is.

"Hey, I'll tell ya what, you can take a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there, but wouldn't you rather take his word for it? "

The temptation is still there. I wouldn't want to buy fruit online, steak looks more promising to survive the trip.
