That's a bit difficult. Considering the amount of design that goes into retail boards, its very difficult to get custom ones made. It'd be possible, but very very very expensive.

After figuring out what you'd want on the board, you'd have to figure out how to wire it all together. There are multiple layers in a motherboard to consider, and someone would have to design the layout for the placement of the components. Then it would have to have a few production boards made, go into testing phases. There would have to be a few recalls made with some adjustments. New boards would be produced and then go through Q&A before they could be shipped.

Costs big bucks $$$$...

the only real way I see to do this besides starting a motherboard company(major dinero) would be to contract a motherboard manufacturer to make a custom design.

The only real way they would consider this is if you have clout (like Doc Overclock does) or...

If you are familiar with the flex atx format you could (again you would have to have some dinero and a plan to sell these boards to recoup your investment) contract a custom flex atx design for a designer computer.

flex atx allows for pratically any shape of pcb (circle, triangle, or whatever) in a very compact format.

One idea I had was to make a round motherboard and then have a basketball case made. The NBA could put all the teams logos and market them as the nba computer.

Could be cool. I am sure many other ideas could be made too.

But the bottom line comes down to money.

For making a one shot board. Good luck.

No...no....no....everyone's got this wrong....I'm planning to have everyone say what they wish was on their custom board. I'm planning on making the regulations later.

I just don't see how this company could make any money. There aren't enough people in the real world...(as opposed to our little fantasy land here)...who really would have the technical know how to say "Oh yeah these are the specs I want..blah blah blah..." most people that are even into building their own computer wouldn't necessarily want a custom design. Just my 2 cents...People probably said the same thing to Bill Gates when he said he was going to mass market an OS...
