"Raw" or unprocessed video needs a humongous file space. When compressed down to an MP4 or similar file, it might be only 15% or so as large. But the compression program may take away some subtle pleasures from the original. Better programs effect the least visual losses.
A 2.5 minute WAV audio file could be up to 30 megs in size.. but if converted to MP3, may only be 3 megs!
