Not to endorse a product, but worthy of mention as to a "new" technology process..
Samsung corporation recently released a new version of the solid-state drive.. their SSD 850.
Using a different "layering" process, they have increased the MTBF span to about 2 million hours (their notation!).
Available in capacities of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB (1,024GB) with a noted 10 year limited warranty!
Prices range from under $200.00 USD to over $700.00 USD.

things are going better but I´m always afraid of the SSD having the same problems that the flash memory sticks one day they stop working without notice and beyond all data recovery chances

Early SSD drives did have a shorter life span than some mechanical drives.
But technology has improved the longevity greatly.
Still not 100% accepting that MTBF span of about 2 million hours though.
Is that "average" use versus "continuous" use? 8,766 hours in one year.. = 228.15 years???? :mb_uhoh3::

MTBF is only an average.

One may last several millennia, the other may fail after 5 minutes. What they should specify is a minimum guaranteed lifetime...
