Apple iPad App Question

Postby c327 » Mon May 20, 2013 3:27 am

Considering getting an Apple iPad and would like to use a good address book app that would also allow the adding of say birthday's and anniversary's.

I haven't gone to an Apple store yet where they probably will want to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge so I figured I would ask here for suggestions on what to use and where to get it.

I was looking at the iPad Mini but will wait for the better display if and when it come out, or I just may go with the full sized iPad. The only reason I am considering Apple is their available apps.

Thanks...............

It comes with a calander app as standard, but there are loads of others still out there. I still have my original ipad which has been pretty much faultless apart from the lack of upgrade to ios6. Got the wife an ipad 2, she's never off it. I like the ipad 3 and I think that will be the next investment for me. did get the daughter a Google NEXUS, really good at a fraction of an ipad cost...

You can always go into the Apple store and not bring your wallet or any other means of payment and just have a look. Ignore the zealots that are trying to sell you the Chrysler building when all you need is basically a tablet. Is there any other reason besides the apps for choosing Apple over Android?

No not really, just liked the nice selection of apps offered by Apple.

Not up on this subject that much Android is a Linux OS ??? and Apple has their own ??? Then hello Microsoft also. I have not the slightest idea which is best. The best display sharpness is one main requirement along with decent performance and a decent selection of apps. I will not want the cell phone option, just wi-fi.

After using all three, IOS6 (apple) wins hands down, it is the polished article.. But the drawbacks are sometimes cost and the tie in to Apple, however you wont get stung by a virus. Android is good too, but has faults, mainly due to certain licensing. Windows 8 is good and pretty snappy on the phone. It does have the added advantage if you are a windows user of syncing a lot of stuff. But it is still not the ploished article and is behind IOS and Android with Apps and App support. Out of the 3, I know Apple is pricey, but it is still far ahead at the moment of the other two (and I ain't no apple fanboy). I am waiting to see how Ubuntu ports to a tablet. It should be interesting!
