i agree with Mr. T on the use of M$ essentials... it really is working well for me with both XP and 7. if i didn't use that, i would go with avast over anything else that is free.

had MS Security Essentials on my desktop for a bit and currently have it on my laptop... One problem I am having with it, is the scheduled scanner. It ain't working like it should, although my systems go into hibernation by themselves after a period of inactivity(may have something to do with it).

Hey! Maybe don't remember me anymore, but I have this site alone to thank for being able to build my first PCs. Its good to see some of you still around doing your thang: evasive, T, Myth, Karls, Junkie, Toby

Full time software engineer, and having a background in dealing with hardware never hurts :)

Gone from being a total noob to being able to use crazy tools like MHDD to issue low level commands to bring a frozen SSD back to life! Good times
