Hi,

I need to add some more memory to my computer but need some help, i currently have 2*256MB modules and i am think of putting another 2*256mb modules of the same stuff in. If i add these extra 2 modules would i still retain dual channel ?

Also if i were to add 2*512mb instead of the 2 256's i asume i would not retain dual channel.

Thanks

Greg

replace the 2x256 with 2x512. get rid of the 256 sicks, as you'll lose dual channel by using 4 channels (kind of hints there....not quad channel. ) either sell them off, and get some really nice 512s, or put them in a backup machine/folding machine...or whatever.

you should see a pretty significant improvement with 1gig rather than 512.
you really don't need 1.5gig...

Ok thanks guys, i thought that was what you were going to say. I will probably end up replacing the 256's with a gig of OCZ EL.
