I bought COMPAQ HENDRIX Motherboard 010699-001 w/ Pentium 3. My computer is AT. Would it fit into AT computer?

Does anybody sell motherboards for AT computer (Windows 98)?

No that is an ATX board. You will be having a hard time finding any AT boards beyond Slot1 Pentium II varieties. I basically can only find one socket 370 board so far in AT form factor, that is the Shuttle HOT-685 i440BX Baby AT Socket-370. I can't find it for sale anywhere right now.

Why is it so? People still have AT computer.

Unrelated question: would ATX hard drive fit into AT platform?

This got me all nostalgic.

There is a PC Chips (cough, cough) Xcel2000 M748LMRT for sale on eBay in Hungary, that is AT or ATX and is socket 370 OR Slot1.

Here is a link to the manual.

It would be cheaper to buy a new case and PSU and use parts for ATX, however, I do like vintage computing and getting anything old up and running is great fun.

Why is it so. I am not sure, maybe because it was time for a new standard, maybe it was because they wanted to push a refresh of systems. I don't really know. All I know is, AT is up until socket 370, nothing after that.

AT and ATX are using the same harddrive physical dimensions. What you do need to pay attention with is what connector is on the harddrive, that must be IDE (also known as PATA) and not the SATA kind.

AT boards are still sold, you might want to go for a Super Socket 7 though and fit an AMD K6 III in there. If you can find those that is.
