Post subject:  HP la-b181p motherboard problems.

Hello,
I have issue with my HP probook. Mother board model la-b181p rev 1.0 When the power cable is plugged in, the POWER LED blinks continuously and I took out the board and when power cable is pluged in the CPU heats up very much. What this can be? Is it CPU problem? Or there is possible short on the board?
Please help! I have filmes the blinking and the board. https://streamable.com/d0loq

You will need a heatsink on the CPU and GPU. Does it do it with RAM? Does it do it with the battery attached? Had a similar issue on a different model of HP board, turned out to be the GPU (short term fix was a reflow).

Replace the CR2032 3V lithium coin cell battery first as possible easy/cheap quickfix.

Other than that I concur with trying another power adapter.
