Hi All

As you can see in the attached image, a piece attched to my pc's motherboard is loose and about to fall off. It is barely connected on the left side.

Does anyone know what this transistor (or whatever it is) does?

So far, I haven't noticed any changes to the running of my pc.

Thanks in advance.

Does it wobble or move, if not then it is just making a contact and working so leave alone?.. If it is moving and looks like it may come off, heat it with a heatgun until you can move it into its correct position, then leave alone until it is solidly stuck on.

Yes it does wobble. It is not making a perfect connection on the right side.
I'm not able to fix it for the next 2 weeks.
Do you think I can still use the pc, or will it cause sparks/short circuit?

It looks like a small capacitor, if it's not connected properly the machine might be a bit less stable. I'm not expecting sparks however. Having any component risking to become completely loose is giving a risk of a short circuit so have that fixed. Now.
