I use Ultra Edit too, and I like that it color codes and closes tags if it knows you're doing HTML.

Whether you use a txt editor or WYSIWYG, it's still good to know some markup:

I have been using NotePad+ for years writing HTML code. It's so much better than MS Notepad.
Have tried other editors, but keep going back to NotePad+.
